Ideal for embedding beneath concrete, asphalt, pavers, or gravel roads, the most popular method involves connecting the loop directly to the rebar before the concrete pour. This wire is specifically crafted for direct burial applications.

In contrast to loops encased in PVC, the BD Loops Direct Burial Loop eliminates the chances of phantom detections triggered by ground vibrations, thanks to its lack of air pockets.

Constructed with Solid 16AWG for enhanced rigidity and durability, our Direct Burial loops easily maintain their position above the rebar framework. The installation is straightforward: just position the loop away from the rebar pattern and secure it using the provided cable ties.

The loop's wire features directional arrows for current flow, and the lead-in, in red and black, simplifies phase understanding. For further details on the impacts of loop phasing, you can click here.

Our twisted jacketed lead-in design counters the common issue of "coil back" seen in typical twisted leads, saving time that would otherwise be spent detangling wires.

Every direct burial loop package includes an installation kit complete with straightforward instructions, cable ties for rebar fixing, ground stakes for layout on gravel and dirt (which should be removed prior to burial), and labeling stickers for easy loop identification post-installation.

Considering an installation under pavers?

Avoid using a Direct Burial loop if the sub-base is concrete or slurry. Instead, opt for a BD Loops Saw-Cut Loop for such situations. Placing wire between two rigid surfaces could lead to premature loop failure.
